RESTAURANT A ESTALAGEM


The Restaurant "A Estalagem" started its activity in October 1994.

The origin of its name was due to the use that was attributed to the room that today serves as a restaurant, an old inn where the travelers and the animals were housed during their stay in Arronches.

Today we wanted to transform the restaurant into a cozy room full of history, decorating it with objects and tools formerly used in the activities of that time, aiming to create a small "museum" with pieces that represent the work activity of another time.

With the purpose of raising the traditional Alentejo cuisine, which, as we know, is rich in traditions, tastes and knowledge transmitted over generations, the Restaurant "A Estalagem" has for more than 20 years been able to preserve and innovate the concepts of the fascinating regional cuisine of Alentejo.

With a rich and varied menu, our restaurant offers many options, from which stand out:

The typical Alentejo soups, like the açorda, the gazpacho, the soup of tomato or the soup of cação.

The typical dishes, such as Lacão roasted in the oven, the Pezinhos of coentrada, the pork cheeks stewed, the pork cured meats, the white beans with pork head, bread crumbs or potatoes accompanied by Iberian pork grilled or the golden cod (à Brás).

The grilled meats of black pork, such as feathers, secrets or kebabs, which originate from our region, the producer par excellence of this breed, contributes decisively to our dishes are supplied with delicious and juicy meat.

The sweets that are all produced by us, such as sericaia, honey and walnut tart, gila and cottage cheese, sweet crumbs and sweet rice.

Predominantly Alentejo wines make up a well-stocked wine cellar, highlighting the region's most renowned wineries.
